Lycan Jiu Jitsu is proud to host a free self-defense workshop in Berkeley on Saturday, September 27, led by Black Belt Head Coach Joe Monroe.
This two-hour workshop is designed to help participants build greater situational awareness, confidence, and practical self-defense skills that can be applied in everyday life. Whether you are completely new to martial arts or already have experience training jiu jitsu, this workshop will offer valuable instruction focused on personal safety, awareness, and effective response.
About the Workshop
Self-defense starts before a physical situation ever happens. In this workshop, participants will learn how to better recognize potential threats, create space, respond under pressure, and make safer decisions in everyday situations.
The training will focus on practical concepts that are accessible to beginners while still valuable for experienced jiu jitsu practitioners. Coach Joe Monroe will guide participants through techniques and strategies rooted in jiu jitsu, situational awareness, and real-world self-defense principles.
Who Should Attend
This free workshop is open to Berkeley residents (as well as the greater East Bay), community members, and jiu jitsu practitioners of all experience levels.
